The textbook loan program will be applied to the resident students of this district, whether such students attend the public schools or non-public schools.
- The FUFSD shall maintain an inventory of all textbooks presently owned by the District, whether or not the same have been loaned to students attending non-public schools.
- By no later than June 1 of each year, parents of students who will be attending non-public schools shall be required to submit requests for textbook loans. The June 1 deadline will not apply to applicants who enroll their child in non-public school after June 1, in which case the written request must be submitted within 30 days after enrollment.
- Filled out request forms can be emailed, mailed or brought in to the business office between 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding holidays. Textbook requests have to include title, author, copyright date, publisher and ISBN number.
- The district’s textbook loan request shall set forth acknowledgment which must be signed by the parent/guardian for the return of such book or books at the end of the academic non-public school year. In case of damage or loss, the parent shall be contractually obligated to reimburse the District for the value of the book(s).
- In the event that new textbook purchase requirements exceed the budgeted appropriation, the board of education, by resolution, presented by the superintendent of schools, shall determine the subject area(s) or at which grade level it will not be able to purchase textbooks for the students in the public school and non-public schools.
- Textbooks must be ordered based on information from the most current catalog.
- Textbooks must be provided by FUFSD. The District will not reimburse parents/schools that make direct purchases.
