Special guest readers at the library welcome our new kindergartners

What a great time our incoming kindergartners had recently at the Florida Library! They and their parents were invited to drop by for stories, crafts and to get a library card of their very own. Special guest readers included our new Superintendent of Schools Larry Leaven and Golden Hill Principal Debbi Lisack.

A group of about a dozen kindergarten students sit on colorful round pillows outdoors. Two adults, a man and a woman, sit in front of them. The man is holding up a book while he reads as the woman smiles.

Mrs. Lisack joins the library each year for the event and Mr. Leaven was thrilled to join her. This was the largest group yet, according to Mrs. Lisack.

She read “Kindergarten is Cool,” written by Linda E. Marshall. Mr. Leaven read “Pink is for Boys” by Robb Pearlman.

All had a great time chatting about books and the children were very attentive. Everyone is excited about the new school year starting Sept. 2.
