The following scholarships are available for students at Florida Union Free School District. More will be added as they become available.
Scholarships that have applications and more information available online can be accessed by clicking on the name of the scholarship. Scholarships that have paper applications are available in English class and the Guidance Office.

Horatio Alger Association Scholarships 3/15/24
– Scholarships of $6,000 to $25,000 are awarded to students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Apply online at www.horatioalger.org
Heisman High School Scholarship 10/17/23
– Senior athletes with at least a B average are eligible to apply at www.heismanscholarship.com
Coca-Cola Scholarship 10/2/23
– All seniors may apply. $20,000 scholarships will be awarded to 150 students. Students must apply online at www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org
2024 Prudential Emerging Visionaries Awards 11/2/23
– Middle and High School students that are or have been involved in community service activities are eligible to apply. Go to www.spirit.prudential.com and follow directions.
Elks Most Valuable Scholarship- 11/13/23
Will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2022 competition. Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. Hudson Valley Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship TBA
-Seniors from the Hudson Valley with a 2.5 GPA are eligible to apply at www.tai-ny.com for scholarship worth between $1,000 and $2,000.
NYS PTA Jenkins Memorial Scholarship for Education 12/15/23
-$3,000 scholarships for high school seniors who will pursuing a degree in education. Applications are available at http://nyspta.org/home/pta-leaders/awards-and-recognitions/jenkins-scholarship/ Each high school, with a PTSA in good standing, may submit only two applications.
Burger King Scholar Awards 12/15/23
-High school seniors, BURGER KING® employees, their dependent children, spouses, or domestic partners In the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico can apply to receive $1,000 to $50,000 scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year! GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship 1/4/24
– Scholarships up to $40,000 for seniors who demonstrate Leadership, Drive, Integrity and Citizenship. Apply at www.reaganfoundation.org
2023 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest TBA

Mid- Hudson Chapter of NYS Assoc. of Business Officials TBA
– Seniors planning to study Business, Finance or Business Education are eligible to apply for the $500 scholarship.
Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship 12/15/23
-This $40,000 scholarship will be awarded to one hundred seniors nationally. Seniors enrolled in or previously enrolled in computer science-related coursework (or willing to take an assessment offered by Amazon if not enrolled in computer science coursework) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need may apply.
NYS 2023 Series Scholarships for Academic Excellence 2/27/24
– The high school selects the scholarship recipients by computing a weighted average of Regents exam in English, Math, Global, US History and Science. Due to Regents exemptions, class rank will be used to select recipients for the 2022 scholarship. One $1500 and two $500 scholarships are awarded. Students must attend school in New York to receive.
Orange County Parochial School League Scholarship TBA
-Scholarships are available to seniors that participated in basketball or cheerleading for at least two years while they were students at an OCPSL elementary school.
Assoc. of Fire Districts of NYS “Ned Carter Mem. Scholarship” TBA
– $1,500 scholarship to a senior related to a firefighter, be a firefighter or be an Explorer in a fire department in good standing with the Association of Fire Districts of the State of NY.
NY Water Environment Association Scholarships TBA

Orange County Counselors Association Scholarship 2/28/24
– Two academic, one CTEC and one special education scholarships to be awarded. Academic scholarships awarded to seniors planning a major and career related to counseling or human services. CTEC scholarship is awarded to a senior attending BOCES planning to continue education in college, trade or tech school. The Special Education Award is for special education students planning to continue their education in a helping field.
H2M Architects & Engineers STEM Scholarship TBA
-Six $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to seniors planning to major in science, technology, engineering architecture or math.
The Michael & Laura Regelski Science and Technology Scholarship TBA
-A scholarship for a female senior pursuing a college major in science, technology or mathematics is available.
Mediacom Entrepreneur of Tomorrow Award 4/15/24
-$1,000 scholarship awarded to an academically successful senior who exemplifies entrepreneurial spirit.
Mid-Hudson Area Retired Teachers Assoc. Scholarship 4/3/24
– Four $3,000 scholarships for seniors ranked in the top 25% of the class and plan on a teaching career.
Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Scholarship 4/1/24
-Two $250 scholarships will be awarded. Students from Orange and Sullivan County are eligible to apply
2023 Orange County Soccer League Scholarship TBA
-A $1,500 and $750 scholarship will be awarded to a female player that played at least one season of JV or Varsity soccer, has maintained at least a B average and resides in Orange County.
Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation Scholarship TBA

Warwick Valley Quilters’ Guild “Phyllis Klein” Scholarship TBA
– Seniors planning to continue their education in fiber arts or fine arts that have completed at least one course in sewing, textiles, design and/or art are eligible to apply.
Orange County Tavern & Restaurant Association Scholarship TBA
-Scholarships are available for seniors who plan to attend college pursuing majors related to the food and beverage industry.
Colonel Ellis Memorial Scholarship & Essay Contest TBA
– One scholarship of $250 will be awarded to a student who demonstrate high academic achievement, community and school involvement and an interest in the heritage of the United States. A 500 word essay must also be submitted.
Pine Island Chamber of Commerce “Black Dirt Scholarship” 4/5/24
-Three $1,500 scholarships are available to students who have chosen to pursue careers associated with agriculture study, equine studies or the culinary arts/hospitality industry. Other college majors are now considered in addition to those listed above. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and in English class.
Orange County Human Rights Commission Scholarship TBA
– Seniors residing in Orange County that displays mutual respect and understanding among all racial, religious and ethnic groups that are involved in programs that foster human rights awareness are eligible to apply.
Warwick Town Democratic Committee Essay Contest TBA
-A $250 scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior based on his or her essay.
Warwick Valley Knights of Columbus Council #4952 Scholarship TBA
-Scholarships up to $1,000 will be awarded to Catholic male and female students that exemplify the principles of the order, have a history of community service and are an active member of their church.
Florida Historical Society History Award TBA
– $250 to a senior that completes the best project relating to the history of the Florida area from the 1600’s to the present.
Warwick Valley Rotary Scholarship Program TBA
– Varying scholarships worth $2,000 available to students legally residing in the Town of Warwick.
American Society of Civil Engineers- Mohawk/Hudson Scholarship TBA
-Seniors planning on a career as a civil engineer are eligible to apply for this $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year).
Florida Lions Club Scholarship TBA
-Two $250 scholarships will be awarded to seniors pursuing post-secondary education.

-Three one-year scholarships will be awarded to seniors with extreme financial need.
Hudson Valley Polonaise Society Scholarship 5/15/24
– Seniors of Polish ancestry are eligible to apply. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
Florida NY Chamber of Commerce Scholarships TBA
-Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors residing in the Florida School District.
S.S. Seward PTSA Scholarship TBA

Florida “Norine Miller Girl Scout Scholarship” TBA
-$250 to a senior currently registered as a Girl Scout, has been a Girl Scout for a minimum of six years, earned the Silver Award and is at least in the process of working on the Gold Award.
Chrome Salon Ltd.- Pawliczek Family Scholarship for the Arts TBA
-$250 will be awarded to one senior who plans to pursue his or her education in the arts such as studio art, graphic design, culinary arts, performing arts, theater, music performance, music industry, dance, fashion design, cosmetology or anything that is artistic/skill based.
UM Advanced Medical Scholarship TBA
-$200 scholarship for a senior planning a career in the health sciences. Application and essay required.
American Legion Post #1250 Scholarship TBA
– Any senior in good academic standing that will be enrolled in an accredited college, university or technical school is eligible to apply.
S.S. Seward Alumni Association Scholarship TBA
– Any senior that has spent a minimum of three years at S.S. Seward is eligible to apply.
Orange County Municipal Planning Federation Scholarship TBA
-$1,000 scholarship is available to residents of Orange County that plan to pursue a degree in a variety of areas such as Civil Engineering, Environment Studies, Architecture, Geography, etc.
Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarships TBA
– Scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to students who have financial need and have exhibited an interest in enrolling in a 2 year or less career/technical degree/certificate program. Apply online at www.horatioalger.org
STEM Tuition Scholarship TBA
