Mid-Hudson School Study Council Honors Rob Andrade and Barbara Scheibling

Congratulations are in order for two FUFSD community members who were honored by the Mid-Hudson School Study Council for their outstanding achievements.

The Mid-Hudson School Study Council (MHSSC) strives to achieve and recognize excellence in education for the Mid-Hudson Valley school districts and communities. Through research on a variety of topics in education, the MHSSC identifies individuals in the academic space who exhibit incredible impact and outstanding efforts and recognizes them for their accomplishments.

Board President Rob Andrade was awarded the 2025 Award for Excellence in School Board Service, an award that recognizes a board member whose efforts and commitment to bettering the student and community experience are undeniably selfless.

For the past three years, Andrade has demonstrated a deep commitment to the community and to the success of its students. His dedication to the district’s missions is clearly evident in his commitment, communication, and community engagement.

“I view this as a win for our school district because it shows that our pursuit of academic excellence and student achievement is getting noticed by our peers for the right reasons.” Andrade shared.

Barbara Scheibling was also honored, receiving the MHSSC Teaching Award. With 40 years of experience in the classroom, Scheibling’s teachings go above and beyond. She is known in our community as a strong advocate for her students, working with them to excel at internships and community events as well as in their academics. Her past students keep in touch and schedule frequent visits, proving that her impact on her students’ lives is great.

She is described as “a trusted adviser, a compassionate listener, and a role model whose legacy will be felt for many years to come,” by principal Michael Maesano.
