S.S. Seward Updates- 5/12/23

May 12, 2023

Wow! It has been a busy April and May, with so many exciting events yet to come! Our middle school math and ELA assessments are complete and we appreciate your help and support in helping it all run smoothly. Our Senior Trip was a fantastic success with our Senior Spartans representing our community by demonstrating respectful and courteous behavior towards everyone they encountered. The PTSA did an amazing job hosting the Tricky Tray event, which was incredibly well attended and a wonderful fundraising success. We had a lot of fun celebrating the Class of 2023 on decision day. Our student athletes have been doing an amazing job on the field, as well as on the track! We had several students participate in All County Festivals and they did a wonderful job demonstrating their talents!

We had two special celebrations this week in honor of our seniors on the softball and baseball teams. So many amazing memories are being created each day as the year draws to a close!

The S.S. Seward Evening Institute is up and running for the first time and we have students already making progress to earn credits beyond what the 9 period regular day schedule can provide. We look forward to starting the year off with this program next year as well in order to continue to provide more opportunities for our high school students. Our Retention Prevention Program is also up and running and we have seen several students improve their academic performance and remain eligible for extracurricular activities. It is so encouraging to be able to offer these additional supports to our students, considering the great programs we have in place during the regular school day. We also have Regents Review Sessions starting up, so CLICK HERE if you would like to check out the schedule for those and ensure that our students are as prepared as possible for the upcoming assessments.

We are looking forward to all of the end of year celebrations that are ahead of us! Starting with this weekend with prom and ending with graduation on June 24th. Please check out the events listed below and mark your calendars!
