S.S. Seward Principal’s message, July 2018

Spartans!

Happy summer, and I hope you are staying cool and enjoying the long days. Of course, reading during the summer is a great way to relax, refresh and keep your mind sharp. Read!

While our students are off for the summer we’re preparing for the coming school year. We continue to embrace technology, varied instructional pathways and expanded opportunities for students to explore career and college choices. We are excited with what is possible as we look to best serve each student as an individual. Please be sure to remain closely involved with your child’s education and the planning of their future.

Our “Garden of Giving” is beginning to take shape. The beds are marked out and soon will hold dirt and various seedlings as the program takes off. The end result will be an outdoor classroom, working vegetable garden and relaxation space for all to enjoy. Stay posted for more news as Mrs. Duquette and Mrs. Allen lead the charge to bring our garden to life!

As Seward looks to become more “green” we partnered with Orange County and have purchased classroom recycling bins for each room. These bins will add to our recycling efforts and reduce the amount of paper waste being generated. This past year Seward was recognized as a Three Star Green School and we have set our goal of becoming a Five Star School in the coming year.  Help us by recycling at home and using reusable bags instead of plastic.

Best wishes for a fantastic summer, congratulations once again to the Class of 2018!  Stay safe and read Spartan Nation!
