Golden Hill student supply lists, 2019-20

Here’s everything your child will need on the first day of school. Please label all items and remember that some things may need to be replenished or replaced later in the year. Ask your student to let you know when supplies are running low.

Kindergarten

Please adhere to the list and do not send additional items

  • 1 box of 16 Crayola crayons
  • 6 glue sticks
  • 1 backpack or book-bag your child can easily open and close (no wheels)
  • 1 folder with pockets on the bottom to carry papers to and from school
  • 1 plastic box to hold crayons and supplies (approximately 4 ½” X 8”)
  • 1 box of tissues to be shared
  • 1 pair of Fiskar scissors
  • 1 marble composition notebook
  • 4 large, round beginner pencils
  • 1 box of baby wipes

Grade 1

Ms. Fisch

  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • Scissors (label with student’s name)
  • 2 packages of 24 pre-sharpened #2 pencils (Ticonderoga or Staples
    Brand / nothing fancy, students will be sharing)
  • 2 erasers (students will be sharing)
  • 2 hardcover, wide-ruled marble composition notebooks (not spiral /
    label with student’s name)
  • 2 boxes of crayons (24 maximum / not jumbo)
  • 8 large white glue sticks
  • One 4oz. bottle of white glue
  • 1 two-pocket plastic folder (pockets on the bottom-not side / label
    with student’s name)
  • 1 package of 100 index cards (Keep cards at home if possible. They will be used for sight-word practice at home)
  • 1 highlighter (any color)
  • 2 Expo dry-erase markers (students will be sharing)
  • 1 clipboard (label with student’s name)
  • 1 container of Play-doh
  • 1 container of baby wipes
  • Personal headphones in a ziploc bag labeled with child’s name to be used
    for computer instruction
  • SNACKS: Please send in a daily healthy snack. If your child needs a spoon or fork for his/her snack, please send that in as well. Donations of classroom snacks are also appreciated.

Mrs. Perry

  • Scissors (age-appropriate)
  • 1 clipboard (regular size)
  • 3 boxes of Ticonderoga pencils, sharpened
  • 1 eraser and 1 package of cap erasers
  • 2 hardcover, wide-ruled composition notebooks (not spiral)
  • 3 boxes of crayons (not jumbo-sized / 24 max. per box)
  • 6 glue sticks
  • 1 plastic crayon box for supplies
  • 2 two-pocket folders (one labeled “Desk folder with student’s name on the cover)
  • 2 highlighters
  • 2  Expo dry-erase markers
  • 1 container of Play-doh
  • 1  box of tissues
  • 1 package of baby wipes (unscented)
  • Boys: 1 roll of paper towels
  • Girls: 1 box of ziploc bags (any size)
  • Optional: Personal headphones (not earbuds) in a ziploc bag labeled with child’s name to be used for computer instruction.
  • Extra supplies will be stored for your child’s use as needed.
  • SNACKS: Please send in a quick snack, daily. Avoid fruit cups or yogurt cups. Donations of classroom snacks are always appreciated.

Mrs. Shute

  • 1″ binder
  • 1 clipboard (regular size)
  • Scissors (Fiskar if possible)
  • 1 package of 24 Ticonderoga or Staples-brand pencils (or 2 packages of 12), sharpened. (These brands are easier to sharpen.)
  • 1 pencil sharpener with compartment for collecting shavings
  • 1  eraser and a package of cap erasers
  • 1 hardcover, marble composition notebook (not spiral). Suggested: grade 3 ruled, 50 sheets, 9-3/4 x 7-¾”, e.g., Roaring Spring Item: 601632 / Model: ROA77922
  • 1 box of crayons (16 maximum)
  • 6 white, solid glue sticks
  • Two 4 oz. bottles of white glue
  • 1 plastic box for pencils, crayons, glue (approx. 6 x 9”)
  • 1 large book-bag, preferable with no wheels to fit in student cubbies
  • 2 two-pocket folders (pockets on the bottom-not side)

  • 2 gallon-size, ziplock bags (not boxes, just 2 bags)
  • 1 container of unscented baby wipes
  • 1 box of tissues
  • 1 container of Play-Doh
  • Comfortable personal headphones in a ziploc bag labeled with child’s name to be used for computer instruction.
  • SNACKS: Please provide a healthy snack each day. Donations of classroom snacks are always appreciated.
    NOTE: Please label all school supplies with your child’s last name. Any extra materials will be stored in their Ziploc bag in their cubby throughout the year, for their own use.

Grade 2

  • 1 plastic box (6X9″) for supplies
  • 1 highlighter
  • 4 glue sticks
  • 3 packages of sharpened Ticonderoga pencils (other brands get “eaten” in our sharpeners)
  • 2 plastic two-pocket folders
  • Scissors
  • Crayons (box of 24)
  • Ruler (inch/centimeter)
  • Dry-erase, low-odor markers in black, green, red, or blue
  • Headphones that fit into a laptop
  • 3 boxes of tissues
    NOTE: Please label all supplies with child’s last name

Grade 3

  • Five 100-sheet marbled hard cover composition notebooks (No spiral notebooks)
  • 1 highlighter
  • 4 large glue sticks*
  • Scissors
  • 24-count box of crayons
  • 3 boxes of tissues*
  • 5 folders with pockets on the bottom
  • 24  No. 2 sharpened  pencils with erasers* (Ticonderoga or Dixon work best and last longest)
  • 1 package colored pencils
  • 2 rubber erasers
  • 1 gallon size ziploc bag for spare supplies (quart size is not big enough)
  • 1 cloth/nylon zippered pencil case (no plastic boxes)
  • 1 set of earphones in ziploc bag labeled with student’s name (students tend to find traditional earphones more comfortable than earbuds)
  • 4 pack of black dry-erase markers (Expo brand works best & last longest)
  • 1 package of baby wipes

* These supplies go quickly, please ask your child to let you know when he or she runs out.

Grade 4

  • 5 packages of pencils with erasers
  • Crayons
  • 1 package composition paper with margins
  • Color pencils
  • 1 black, ½ inch, 3-ring binder (for chorus)
  • 1 black and white composition notebook (not spiral)
  • 4 hole punched plastic folders with pockets
  • 6 glue sticks
  • 1 ruler to be left at home for measurement homework assignments
  • 1 protractor to be left at home for measurement homework assignments
  • 3 boxes of tissues
  • 1 cloth/vinyl pencil container (not a plastic box)
  • 1 one-inch, 3-ring binder (for sci/social studies)
  • Crayons
  • Colored pencils
  • 2 highlighters
  • 1 pen

For Information Studies/Library:

  • 1 hardcover, 1.5 inch, 3-ring binder, with clear cover
  • 1 subject notebook that can clip into the binder
  • 1 hard cardboard clipboard (from the dollar store)

Grade 5

  • One 5-subject notebook with pockets
  • 3 one-inch binders for science, social studies, and chorus
  • One 1.5 inch binder for math
  • 1 pack of reinforcements for hole-punched papers
  • 1 package of loose leaf paper
  • 1 two-pocket folder
  • 1 pack of white 3 x 5″ index cards, and 1 pack of colored 3 x 5″ index cards (lined on one side). Please punch a hole through the corner of each card and have each set on a binder ring for the first day of school.
