Golden Hill student supply lists, 2018-19

Here’s everything your child will need on the first day of school. Please label all items and remember that some things may need to be replenished or replaced later in the year. Ask your student to let you know when supplies are running low.

Pre-K

  • Change of clothes (shirt, shorts, underwear and socks), labeled with the student’s name
  • Shoe box to hold a change of clothes
  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • 2 packages of baby wipes
  • 1 package of glue sticks (Elmer’s Disappearing Purple, if possible)
  • 1 pack crayons
  • 1 bottle Elmer’s liquid glue
  • 2 folders with brads (solid color)
  • 1 box of zipping bags, any size
  • 1 box thick washable markers

Kindergarten

Please adhere to the list and do not send additional items

  • One box of 16 Crayola crayons
  • 6 glue sticks
  • A backpack or book bag that your child can easily open and close (no wheels)
  • One folder with pockets on the bottom to carry papers to and from school
  • A plastic box to hold crayons and supplies (approximately 4 ½” X 8”)
  • One box of tissues to be shared
  • One pair of  Fiskar scissors
  • One marble composition notebook
  • 4 large, round beginners’ pencils
  • 1 box baby wipes

Grade 1

Ms. Fisch

  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • 1 pair of scissors, label with student’s name
  • 2 packages of 24 pre-sharpened #2 pencils (Ticonderoga or Staples
    brand; nothing fancy, students will be sharing)
  • 2 erasers (students will be sharing)
  • 2 hard cover, wide-ruled marble composition notebooks (not spiral)
    Label with student’s name
  • 2 boxes of crayons, 24 maximum, not jumbo)
  • 4 solid white glue sticks
  • 4 oz. bottle white glue
  • Two-pocket plastic folder (pockets on the bottom-not side) Label
    with student’s name
  • Pkg. of 100 index cards (keep these at home. Will be used for
    sight word practice at home
  • Highlighter (any color)
  • 2 Expo dry erase markers (students will be sharing)
  • Clipboard. Label with student’s name
  • Personal headphones in a Ziploc bag labeled with child’s name to be used
    for computer instruction
  • Boys: Container of baby wipes
  • Girls: Gallon size box of Ziploc bags
  • A healthy snack each day:  Donations of classroom snacks are always appreciated.

Mrs. Perry

  • Pair of scissors
  • 2 boxes of 24 yellow pre-sharpened pencils (Ticonderoga or Staples brand)
  • 2 hard cover, wide-ruled composition notebooks, not spiral
  • 2 boxes of crayons, not jumbo-sized (24 max. per box)
  • 4 large glue sticks
  • 4 oz. bottle white glue
  • Plastic crayon box for supplies
  • 2 two-pocket folders (pockets on the bottom, not side)
  • 1 package of 100 white index cards
  • 2 yellow highlighters
  • 1  Expo Dry Erase Marker (not skinny)
  • 1  box of tissues
  • 1 pack of index cards, any size/color
  • 1 package of baby wipes
  • Boys: 1 roll of paper towels
  • Girls: Box of ziploc bags, any size
  • Optional: Personal headphones (not ear buds) in a ziploc bag labeled with child’s name to be used for computer instruction.

Mrs. Shute

  • 1″ binder
  • Pair of scissors (Fiskar if possible)
  • 1 package of 24Ticonderoga pencils, or 2 packages of 12. Please sharpen.  (Ticonderoga or Staples brands sharpen easily for children)
  • 1 pencil sharpener with compartment for collecting shavings
  • 1  eraser and a package of cap erasers
  • 1 hard cover, marble composition notebooks (not spiral)
  • 1 box of crayons (16 maximum)
  • 6 solid white glue sticks
  • 2 4 oz. bottles white glue
  • 1 plastic box for pencils, crayons, glue (approx. 6 x 9)
  • 1 large book bag, preferable with no wheels to fit in students’ cubbies
  • 2 two-pocket folders (pockets on the bottom-not side)
  • 2 highlighters, any color
  • 2 Expo dry erase markers
  • 2 gallon size, Ziplock bags: (not boxes, just 2 bags)
  • 1 container of non-scented baby wipes
  • 1 box of tissues
  • Comfortable personal headphones in a ziploc bag labeled with child’s name to be used for computer instruction
  • A healthy snack each day:  Donations of classroom snacks are always appreciated.
  • Any extra materials will be stored in their Ziploc bag in their cubby throughout the year, for their own use.
  • Please label your student’s belongings

Grade 2

  • 1 plastic box (6X9) for supplies
  • 1 highlighter
  • 4 glue sticks
  • 3 packages of sharpened Ticonderoga pencils (other brands get “eaten” in our sharpeners)
  •  2 plastic two-pocket folders
  • Scissors
  • Crayons (box of 24)
  • Ruler (inch/centimeter)
  • Expo dry erase low odor markers in black, green, red, or blue
  • Headphones that fit into a laptop
  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • A small back pack capable of fitting inside a small locker (10 inches wide).

Grade 3

  • Five 100-sheet marbled hard cover composition notebooks (No spiral notebooks)
  • 1 highlighter
  • 4 large glue sticks*
  • Scissors
  • 24-count box of crayons
  • 3 boxes of tissues*
  • 5 folders with pockets on the bottom
  • 24  No. 2 sharpened  pencils with erasers* (Ticonderoga or Dixon work best and last longest)
  • 1 package colored pencils
  • 2 rubber erasers
  • 1 gallon size ziplock bag for spare supplies (quart size is not big enough)
  • 1 cloth/nylon pencil case (no plastic boxes)
  • Earphones in zip-loc bag labeled with student’s name
  • 4 pack of black dry erase markers (Expo works best & last longest)

* These supplies go quickly, please ask your child to let you know when he or she runs out.

Grade 4

  • 5 packages of pencils with erasers
  • 1 package composition paper with margins
  • 1 black ½ inch 3 ring binder (for chorus)
  • 2 black and white composition notebook (not spirals)
  • 4 hole punched plastic folders with pockets
  • 1 ruler to be left at home for measurement homework assignments
  • 1 protractor to be left at home for measurement homework assignments
  • 1 cloth/vinyl pencil container (not a plastic box)
  • 1 one inch 3 ring binder (for sci/social studies)

Grade 5

Please label all items with student’s last name.

  • Five subject notebook with pockets
  • 3 one inch binders- for science, social studies, and chorus
  • One 1 ½ inch binder for math
  • 2 packs of 8-tab dividers for binders
  • A pack of reinforcements for hole-punched papers
  • 1 package of loose leaf paper
  • A two-pocket folder
  • One pack of white 3 x 5 index cards, one pack of colored 3 x 5 index cards.  All with lines on one side . Please punch a hole through the corner of each card and have each set on a binder ring for the first day of school.
