Eighth-graders discover careers at Y2Kids Expo

Seward Institute’s grade 8 students learned about an array of carreer opportunities at the 2019 Y2Kids Careers from A to Z Expo, an annual interactive event hosted by the Career and Technical Education (CTE) division of Orange-Ulster BOCES.

Florida’s students joined hundreds of others from surrounding districts in informational sessions and the exploration of a variety of job opportunities and career paths.

Held at the U.S. Army 2nd Aviation Detachment at Stewart International on April 10, the event gathered career specialists from dozens of agencies, organizations and businesses from across the Mid-Hudson.

Since its inception in 1999, Y2Kids has reached close to 45,000 students. Contributions from local sponsors cover the operating expenses so there is no cost for students to participate.
