Budget vote update: Mailed absentee ballots will be accepted through June 16

An Executive Order by Governor Andrew Cuomo issued on June 7 has extended the deadline for school districts to receive mailed-in absentee ballots to June 16. However, the cutoff for hand-delivered ballots remains 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 9.

To be counted, hand-delivered ballots must be received by the school district by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9. Mailed ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on June 16.

Absentee ballot deadlines by delivery method

Drop-off in the locked box or hand-delivery to the district office
— Tuesday, June 9, by 5 p.m.

Mail-in and delivery by USPS carrier
— Tuesday, June 16, by 5 p.m.

Pursuant to the same order, “The ballots therein shall remain unopened pending delivery of mailed ballots, and shall be removed and canvassed after 5 p.m. on June 16, 2020.”
