In the words of the cast…

Aladdin is played by sixth-grader Keegan Mcgoldrick who, like his adventurous character, is braving “a whole new world” in his first-ever acting role! “I decided to try something different,” Keegan said. Without any help from Genie, Keegan landed the lead role and is on a magic carpet ride all his own. “Drama is a lot of fun, and I’m making a lot of friends.” Still working on his lines and acknowledging some debut jitters, Keegan is also feeling more confident about himself and his emerging talents. “I think I’m going to stay in drama. I really like acting and especially the singing.”

Sixth-grader Roseann Pagan is playing Jasmine and bringing three years of acting experience to her performance. “It’s a big responsibility, but very fulfilling,” Roseann said of her first lead role. “My character has a sassy personality and is very strong-willed. I can relate to all of it.”

Capable of making your entertainment wishes come true is sixth-grader Shea Fleury in the role of Genie. A student of voice and a member of the select choir, Shea has been acting since second grade and finds this role an actor’s dream. “I can be myself! I can make people laugh and feel happy!” Being herself and feeling accepted is part of what draws Shea to the Drama Club and the company of fellow actors.
