Homework Summer Reading Book Report Form Parental notice: If you see an assignment listed on schooltool.com and it is blank that does NOT mean your child failed to do the assignment. Certain assignments are added to the grade book in anticipation of a student doing the work ahead of time. BkRpt2ndQtrA was added on November 15, 2011. This does not mean it is due on November 15th. It just means that that I am anticipating children doing a report this quarter. Thankfully, Mr. Slevin May 15, 2012- Budget Night- 6-8pm I will be firmly planted in room 254 showing student created plays. If you would like to see what your child created please come down. Play requests will be taken on first come first serve basis. May 15-May 21, 2012 Study for a full novel test on ATTWN. The test will be on Tuesday, May 22nd. May 23- May 28, 2012
*To be completed on LOOSE-LEAF (or typed up)* Answer the following questions based on the student created plays: 1- Which play/team did you like best (Yes, you may select your own team)? 2- Why did you like that particular play/team? 3- Can you think of ways to actually make their play better? Be sure to keep your writing positive (and honest) and take the time to think about their feelings. Due Tuesday, May 29th! May 16- June 1, 2012 Bring in a book to read, work on any missing book reports. Maps testing will return on May 30th, you should have a book to read after you finish the test. June 4- End of year
Study for the final exam. The English FINAL exam will occur on Wednesday, June 6th and Thursday, June 7th . The final will have questions ranging from quarter 1 through quarter 4 material that we learned this year (including the novels). And Then There Were None will NOT be included on the final exam (since we just had a full novel test last week). Remember the final exam is worth 20% of your YEARLY grade! Study all past tests, homeworks, and especially class notes. The final exam will cover the following novels: Where the Red Fern Grows The Man Who Was Poe It will also cover the following elements of Language Arts: Reading Comprehension, Capitalization, Punctuation (Ex: commas, apostrophes, contractions, quotation marks), Spelling, Sentence/Not a sentence Literary elements as they relate to playwriting (Ex: character, setting, exposition, complication, resolution), Parts of speech (Ex: nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs) Poetry (every term, and example found on castlelearning.com) Bring in your textbook. June 12th and beyond: If you missed seeing your child's play on budget night, send me an email and I will arrange time for you to see it.
